Nightlife and culture

  • London has it all – a vibrant nightlife, top theatres, and great sport and music venues. Many of the capital's world-class museums and galleries are free for students.
  • The Shoreditch and West End areas of London are popular destinations for student nights out, but there are also plenty of local hangouts all over the city.
  • The Medway Towns of Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham have lots to keep students entertained, from festivals and gigs to nightclubs and restaurants.
  • Chatham Maritime, a retail park with a nine-screen cinema, bars, restaurants and outlet stores, is just 5 minutes' walk from Medway Campus.
  • The Deep End is a popular venue on Medway Campus. It regularly hosts live concerts, comedy events and quiz nights.

  • New students are guaranteed a place in a hall of residence, provided they meet a few simple criteria.
  • Accommodation is located on campus (Avery Hill and Medway) or a short walk away from campus (Greenwich).
  • A free shuttle bus connects Avery Hill and Greenwich Campuses. This service takes approximately 20 minutes.
  • Most rooms are in flat shares with other students, but there are some options for self-contained studios or shared rooms.

Getting around

  • Greenwich Campus has two train stations and the DLR metro nearby, all with journeys to central London of about 25 minutes.
  • At Medway Campus, Chatham town centre is about a 5-minute bus ride from the campus, Rochester is about 15 minutes away by bus.
  • Students can use the university bus between campuses. Some routes are free, others have a subsidised fare.
