Decagon raises $35 million for AI-powered customer service. Article by Reuters.Image by AGImageAI. Decagon, a startup that sells artificial intelligence-powered customer support solutions, said on Tuesday it had raised $35 million in Series A and seed funding. Accel led the series A round with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.Decagon uses generative AI to replace or augment a company's customer support workforce.Generative AI, which came to prominence when Microsoft-backed OpenAI launched the viral ChatGPT chatbot in late 2022, is seen as a game-changer for the customer-service industry, as the technology excels at imitating human communication and providing personalized interactions. The funding round puts Decagon in competition with other well-capitalized customer support AI startups like Forethought, which has raised over $90 million from New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and other venture capital funds.Accel partner Ivan Zhou told Reuters that Decagon's product is differentiated because in addition to powering a customer-support chatbot, it also functions as a company's internal customer support liaison and provides services like creating software bug reports, analyzing customer emails to suggest product improvements or writing internal documentation.Stay ahead in the world of AI! US$25 Mln FundingGlobally, AI is expected to replace914 million jobs by 2030, with an additional 379 million occupational shifts. The robo-pocalypse is coming in and the places to experience it are in customer interactions, knowledge management, and software engineering. This is because these are the three areas of extensive organizational experiments with generative AI. Most organizations using LLMs are still in the exploration phase. the potential areas of use for LLMs center on manipulating existing information, much of it specific to an individual organization. This innovation has raised the possibility that many human jobs, particularly knowledge intensive jobs that primarily involve working with text or code could be replaced or significantly undercut by widespread adoption of this technology. NICHE TO MAINSTREAM 90% of employees are being burdened with boring and repetitive tasks which could be easily automated. In fact, these tasks – which include searching for data, data entry, data processing and analysis, and combining data from multiple sources – are costing businesses 19 working days per year per employee, on average. This is putting a big dent in the productivity of the business, as a shocking nine in ten business users are spending time on these boring automatable tasks rather than value-added activities. This productivity hit is frustrating workers. A startup has come up with a unique solution to automate repetitive tasks of employees. The name of the startup is Ema.Emais a generative AI startup that is building a tool to change how we work - to automate the mundane tasks that employees do on a day to day basis in every enterprise. The AI tool wants to free them up to do more valuable and more strategic work.Ema AI features range from customer service — including offering technical support to users as well as tracking and other functions — through internal productivity applications for employees. Ema’s two products — Generative Workflow Engine (GWE) and EmaFusion — are designed to “emulate human responses” but also evolve with more usage with feedback.Ema taps into more than 30 large language models and combines that with its own smaller, domain specific models in a patent-pending platform to address all the issues of accuracy, hallucination, data protection and so on.Founded by Souvik Sen and Surojit Chatterjee, Ema has raised a $25 million funding round. The fund will be used to develop the products.#funding #genAI #startup #employee #support #vcdeal

The debate around AI's impact on productivity continues to stir interest. According to recent reports from The Economist and Forbes, while many are enthusiastic about the potential of generative AI, actual productivity rates remain at levels similar to those before 2022.Implementing AI requires a significant budget, and many companies are hesitant to make such investments without guaranteed returns. As a result, the promise of AI enhancing productivity remains largely unrealized for many businesses. After my previous post showcasing how APIDNA integrates hundreds of endpoints in less than 30 seconds, I received numerous messages and calls from customers and investors. They challenged whether our solution truly leverages AI or if it’s just a simple import of well-known files. I embraced this challenge head-on.Traditionally, integrating platforms like SAP or Salesforce can be a monumental task. It often involves writing tens of thousands of lines of code and dedicating several months for a team of developers to build the integration. For example, integrating a single endpoint and building the relevant adaptor for client mapping could require around 10,000 lines of code and several weeks of development. Imagine how a full-blown integration could look: over 100,000 lines of code and months or even years of effort. At APIDNA, we’re changing the narrative. Using our platform, these complex tasks are replaced by simple natural language instructions, and our autonomous agents build the adaptor in real-time within seconds. This isn't just a productivity boost; it's a transformative approach. Companies no longer need to invest millions and wait years to see potential productivity gains. With APIDNA, you can start seeing results immediately. We’re proud to offer a solution that genuinely enhances productivity and efficiency in a way that generative AI has yet to fully deliver for many businesses.Check out the new video and see for yourself how APIDNA is making a real difference. If you’re ready to revolutionize your integrations and boost your productivity, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you every step of the way.#APIDNA,#api#innovation,#technology,#digital,#saas,#digitaltransformation,#vc,#startup,#venturecapital#entrepreneurship#Investors,#Software,#Luxembourg,#eu#ai#autonomousagents
