Breaking into companies that offer positions and programs that truly interest us can be a challenging task, even with experience and skills. For me, Amazon has been one of those companies. As a humbling experience, I'm currently working with Amazon in an entry level seasonal role to gain an internal perspective of the company. It's not my ideal situation, and I’m not looking at it as a step back but instead as a step forward. It's an opportunity to see the company from a different lens, beyond my previous experience being a contracted driver or Amazon influencer and managing Amazon business accounts. #perspective #careerdevelopment #Amazon

Journey with Amazon (Honest Review) I had the privilege of working as a Customer Service Specialist at Amazon, and it truly stands out as one of my most fulfilling full-time experiences. Here's a glimpse into my time with the company:1. Training Excellence and Clear Communication:From the moment I completed the interview rounds, Amazon exhibited a commitment to excellence. I received the necessary assets within 2 days, albeit in less-than-ideal condition, but the comprehensive training that followed was impeccable. The HR team's clear communication and guidance ensured a seamless transition to the live floor, where I engaged with customers confidently.2. Outstanding Work Environment:Amazon's leave policy, work culture, and emphasis on professionalism and discipline during working hours contributed to a highly productive and positive atmosphere.3. Incentives and Recognition:The occasional gifts during festive seasons and performance-based coupons added a delightful touch to the incentive schemes. The biannual promotions, tied to the company's profitability, not only motivated the team but also showcased Amazon's commitment to retaining top talent.Reasons for My Transition:Despite these positives, my departure from Amazon was prompted by a desire for exponential career growth, which I felt the current role did not offer. Additionally, the intensity of work schedules during special sales and festive periods, leading to increased call flow, made the job challenging for me. Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5:In summary, I would rate my Amazon experience a solid 4.5 out of 5. The company's strengths, from training to culture and incentives, make it a compelling workplace. While I moved on due to my career aspirations, if given a second chance, I would gladly rejoin the Amazon family.#Amazon #WorkExperience #CustomerService #Review

Today marks ten years, or over 2600 Day Ones. I started in 2013 as an entry level warehouse associate. I’ve since worked my way up. Often as the Learning Area Manager I have associates asking what the secret it to moving up.There is no secret.1. Work hard. Do the things others won’t without complaint.2. Bring a positive attitude. It’s hip to act jaded but not good for advancement.3. Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed. Get a mentor, associate with people also trying to move forward.4. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. If you’re comfortable, you aren’t growing. That’s not necessarily bad, but Amazon is a company where change is one of the few constants. I have seen people who got so comfortable they couldn’t adapt when major changes happened.#amazon #behindthesmile #amazonvestlife #amaversary

Hi Everybody,On 12/31/23, I officially ended my Old Fart Tool-verified, longer-than-96.57%-of-Amazonians tenure to pursue an external opportunity! For the last eight-and-a-half years I’ve called myself an Amazonian (amongst other things). What started as a Field Sales Market Manager role supporting Amazon Devices in Minneapolis and Detroit, transitioned to a Vendor Manager role in Seattle on the Home Retail team managing the Air Purifiers and Weather Station categories and Deals. I enjoyed Deals so much that I rotated to Program Manager and Product Marketing Manager roles on the ACES Deals Team, where I’ve supported Deal sourcing, troubleshooting, auditing, communications, and more for the past 2 years. Being fully transparent, there are things I will not miss about Amazon, but much more that I will miss. Above all else though, I’m going to miss the awesome group of people I’ve had the pleasure of calling teammates over the past 8.5 years. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have spent 42.5% of my career with everyone I met, or, in WBR terms, “Amazon tenure is 42.5% of career (+70% Job-over-Job) driven primarily by teammate endearment (+550 bps CTC).” I cannot possibly thank everyone individually. So many have played a part in making me who I am, be it recruiting me, hiring me, training me, being trained by me, developing me, mentoring me, being mentored by me, promoting me, frustrating me, getting frustrated by me, working with me, saying hi to me, providing me insights about Amazon’s culture before even applying, and really everything else there is…and I appreciate you all very much because of that.I’m not a fan of “Goodbyes”, so I’m going to delude myself into thinking this isn’t one, and instead state that I sincerely hope this is more of a “see you later”. For now, I’m still in the Seattle area (though working from home), and as many of you know, I’m usually more than willing to meet up for lunch, coffee, or happy hour as time, transportation, and family needs allow.Thank you all for sharing this adventure with me, and I hope to see and hear from you again in the future!P.S. Rather than use stock pics of Amazon shoes hanging, I'm doing my photo with the laptop/badge, but also a few other pieces of swag from my years...including actual Amazon shoes.More to come on my new role...

I left my high-paying job at Amazon after 18 years. It was a difficult decision but here’s why I did it:• I stopped growing: As much as I loved my role, it was starting to feel too comfortable. Clutching onto this familiar past just didn’t feel like I was growing in the ways I was supposed to. So, I decided to put money where my mouth is and follow my own advice: I unapologetically and ruthlessly prioritized personal growth over comfort.• It prevented me from other opportunities: I began to wonder: What else am I missing out on? The world is brimming with possibilities and I felt a compelling urge to apply myself into new areas where I wasn’t the expert.• Life isn’t all about work: A wise reminder from Ethan Evans hit home: “Your kids are the only people that are going to remember that you worked nights and weekends.” That was the biggest reality check I ever gotten. Life experiences have an expiration date, and I didn’t want to miss out on any more precious moments in my life. So, What's Next?My new goal? To help a million people grow their careers.Expect a lot more content on my YouTube channel, A Life Engineered. Just say yes. Simple action that demonstrates a growth mindset. Never stop learning or being uncomfortable, it is in these times we are learning and stretching our skills to the next level.“I was interested in working on the help desk—an area I had no background in.That would begin what would turn out to be a common theme over my now 23-year Amazon career: just saying yes”#alwayslearning #neverstop #nevergiveup #growth #upskill

I recently started a job for Amazon, I really was thinking to take any available opportunities till I find a position that suits my experience and qualifications, I’ve been recruited by some international companies years ago, and I had chance to participate in many development projects and compliance work, which gave me good experience added to my career as a leader who can manage and improve any team works under my responsibility. But obviously I was impressed from day one I joined Amazon, how creative and experienced are the team who managed the company, I felt very lucky and my input is very important, my voice matter, and my comments, feedback are very important to them, they don’t care where did you came from, what kind of god you believe in, what colour is your skin, what letters your tong knows! They wanted to put you in the right place and use your experience in the right way!! You will probably know your future with the company straight away after you training process is done.In most of the companies; new joiners staff most likely are lost somewhere, specially in the airport! Onboarding in Amazon is something completely different, quick easy process, and experience that I never ever forget, I started a massive training from day one, after 3 days of training and coaching I completely had experience added to my resume, and started loving to build a new different experience with Amazon, I can imagine where I can be after 1 year, transparency and standards are clear for everyone.
