SLIDE TITLE: A SPOTLIGHT ON: FREIGHT ASSOCIATES

SLIDE TITLE: WHAT DOES A FREIGHT ASSOCIATE DO?

JAY C.
I work in freight, so I work in the back, and I take boxes off of the truck.

SARETH T.
We break down the truck and after breaking down the truck we bring all our, you know, all our stuff onto the floor.

MATT S.
And then we, as a team pack everything out onto the shelves, make sure that the shelves are packed down and straightened fully and make the store basically grand opening ready every morning.

SLIDE TITLE: WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT COULD A FREIGHT ASSOCIATE USE?

TYLER J.
To be on our freight team, you don’t have to know how to drive equipment, but it is helpful. I was trained by The Home Depot to drive all my equipment.

VERONICA J.
I have the electric ladder, the forklift, the reach truck, and the slip sheet.

SLIDE TITLE: WHAT ARE THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE?

JAY C.
My job is pretty physical.

VERONICA J.
You do some heavy lifting. I don’t do a lot of heavy lifting, that’s when I actually partner up with someone.

JAY C.
Can be a little bit grueling on the legs because there is a lot of walking, you are having to lift a lot of heavy things.

SLIDE TITLE: ARE FREIGHT ASSOCIATES PART OF A TEAM?

TYLER J.
Everyone got they little aisles and everything that they work separate, but at the end of the day, it’s all about team with us.

SARETH T.
It’s somewhat of a solo thing, because you’re working in your own department, but like, if you do need help, help will come your way. So just don’t ever feel like you’re alone and you’re by yourself, because just like, you have neighbors that just come and assist you whenever you need the help.

SLIDE TITLE: WHY OVERNIGHT?

VERONICA J.
I work overnight because it’s better for me and my kids.

JAY C.
I prefer to work late at night because I have school, so it’s just when my schedule’s open.

SARETH T.
I’m even, like, a night owl, so I guess this fits because I stay up late anyway, so why not just stay up late and work too?

JAY C.
Even though I work overnight, I do still have a life and I do get to have a lot of fun.

SLIDE TITLE: WHY HOME DEPOT?

VERONICA J.
I love my job here at Home Depot.

SARETH T.
The associates here, they make you feel at home and it just, I don’t know, just feel comfortable.

VERONICA J.
The people, it’s the people that keeps me coming.
